5... 4... 3... 2... 1.... "Put down your pencils and close your booklets," Mrs Sedgwick says. That's it! The last SATs paper finished. Your brain feels like mush and your hand aches, but it's finally done. You stretch back in your chair and try to relax; dozens of sighs and groans fill the air as the rest of the class try to do the same. "Thank you for all your hard work," Mrs Sedgwick says. Mrs Hooper enters the room and gives Mrs Sedgwick a thumbs-up and a wide smile. "Well done everyone," she says. "Great work. You've made the school proud. Now it's time for the reward!" Reward? Now that's more like it! What a boring week but finally you're going to get a treat to make it all worth it. "What reward do we get?" you ask. Mrs Hooper frowns. "Reward for you? No, you don't understand. This reward is for the teachers." "I don't understand," you admit, feeling more than a little disappointed. "Well," Mrs Sedgwick begins. "Now you've finished your SATs, we really don't need to keep you around anymore." A click comes from the back for the room... Mrs Hooper has locked the door! "Oh yes," your headteacher smiles. "It's Egerton tradition: as soon as Y6 finish their exams the teachers finally get their reward.... a delicious meal of children!" And with that - both the adults rear back, revealing long, vicious looking fangs sprouting out of their mouths. VAMPIRES! THE TEACHERS ARE ALL VAMPIRES! [[What is going on? ]] [[Of course! You race for the back door and only just manage to slip past Mrs Sedgwick's sharp claws as she swipes at your head. With a surge of raw adrenaline, you and your best friend flee out onto the field as the sound of your class being devoured roars behind you.... You're the only ones left. You're too smart to head for the main doors; who knows who - or what could be waiting for you on the other side? Sneakily, you make your way around the building and head for the door to Lions instead. Hopefully, no-one will be in there. [[Peer through the window]]

Your friend leaps up onto the fence leading out to the main road and you follow quickly behind. You struggle and heave but to no avail. There's no way out, you just can't make it over the fence. [[Run for the main building]]

You're right... it's empty. At least for now. Opening the door, your and your best friend slip into the room and crouch down low. The sounds of lessons and learning should be all around you, but the school is strangely quiet. Where is everyone? Making your way out into the Year 2 corridor you creep up to the classroom and peer inside. The whole class is asleep as Miss Garvey prowls around, fully transformed into a vampire. Of course! The vampiric staff must put the rest of the school to sleep and then hypnotize them to make them forget. Suddenly, Miss Garvey stops in her tracks and sniffs the air. Has she caught a whiff of you? You only have seconds before she turns round. Do you... [[Push your friend through the door and make a run for it. Everyone for themself!]] [[Grab your friend and run back to Lions]]

You make it through the door to Lions just as the door to Year 2 slams open and Mrs Garvey searches for the intruder. Breathing deeply, you and your friend crouch out of sight and hope she doesn't come after you. Seconds pass... Minutes pass... You're safe. It's only then that you notice tapping coming from the PPA room next door where the teachers work. Looking up at the window in the door, you see Mr Pettit typing away at a computer. Dare you risk asking for his help? [[No way! He's clearly a vampire too and probably the worst]] [[He may be annoying but he's no vampire. Vampires don't have beards. Ask for his help.]]

You don't trust Mr P as far as you can throw him... [[Continue on into the hall looking for a way out]]

You knock timidly on the door and Mr Pettit ushers you in with a confused look on his face. "Are you two alright?" he asks. You're not to sure where to start... you take a deep breath and tell Mr P what has happened. As he listens his face darkens. "I knew it!" he yells, leaping up from his chair. "This explain everything: why the other teachers never go outside in the day time. Why theres so many empty cups in the staffroom with red stuff leftover inside. Why Miss Dixon always wears that t-shirt with "I'm a vampire" on it." "Thanks so much for believing in us!" you say with a grin. A sense of relief sets in: Mr Pettit will help you out of this jam. "We need to get out of here and tell our parents." Mr Pettit doesn't seem to be listening to you. He continues talking to himself. "I can't believe this," he mutters," the other teachers never told me! I can't believe they didn't share!" Share??? Oh no... "You're not a vampire are you?" your best friend asks, stepping back in fear. Mr Pettit lets out a laugh. "Oh no, of course not. I'm far too big and hairy. I'm a werewolf!" With a roar he leaps at you both, barely giving you time to jump out of his reach. You look around desperately. Time to grab a weapon... [[Grab the music stand propped up against the wall]] [[Pick up the keyboard]]

You need to get out of here and the hall is the way to go. You both stand in the empty room and look around. You have two options here: the kitchen or the office. Head to the [[kitchen]] Head to the [[office]] instead

Of course! The metal parts of the music stand are made of silver. You throw it at Mr Pettit and it pierces his chest, pinning him back to his chair. "Ouch," he says with a grimace. "That really stings." He wriggles in his chair and lets out an annoyed whine. "Now, I'm stuck to the chair!" "I thought silver killed a werewolf," you ask. He shakes his head. "Normally it does, but I wrote this story so I'm going to save myself anyway. Best of luck guys, sorry about trying to eat you." Savage beast defeated, you leave. With a great swing, you bash Mr Pettit over the head with cheap plastic keyboard. It only seems to annoy him more. He eats you both and then goes back to work. THE END! Go back to the [[beginning]] and try again!

The office staff lie asleep at their desks, clearly under the vampire teachers' spell as well. You look around for something to defend yourself with a see a leftover pot of salad that someone was eating for lunch. Inside is a fork. You take the fork and continue on to the [[front doors]]

Ignoring the piles of butter on the side (Dan's favourite) you grab a fork and head to the back doors. They're locked. With a sigh, you and your friend head to the [[front doors]] instead.

You're finally there! The front doors and the exit to the school. Of course, they're locked. There has to be a way out of this! Do you... [[Smash the glass]] [[Look for the key]]

With a deafening crash you manage to crack the window open. Behind you, a chorus of howls fill the air as every vampiric teacher rushs to find the source of the noise. Oh dear... THE END Go back to the [[beginning]] and try again...

There has to be a key somewhere! Searching round the office, you ransack draws and peer under desks. Nothing... "What do we do?" your best friend asks. "I don't know," you admit, looking through the final drawer. Still nothing... You rush back to the front doors and bang on them angrily. You were so close to getting out! THE FORK! It's worth a try so you jam the tip of the fork into the door lock and give it a yank. With a click the door opens wide and reveals freedom outside. You've made it! You rush out into the street and grab the nearest person by the shoulder. It's a woman pushing a baby in a stroller. Something about the baby looks a little familar. "Help us!" you yell. You explain what's happened and the woman runs off to find help, leaving you alone to watch her baby. You peer into the stroller - she sure is cute! And she really reminds you of someone you know... who is it? With a shiver you realise: Mr Pettit. [["Are you Mr Pettit's baby?" you ask.]]
